made in the eighties.

yesterday i decided that i've watched too much scrubs. when i watch shows on netflix, i mean i watch shows on netflix. like way too often, way too much, and i am on scrubs overload. i just see jd and turk and carla and janitor everywhere! mostly its really entertaining, but i'm ready for some variation.

which brings me to whats next on my fungenda.

80s movies.  80s movies!

i watched Pretty in Pink last night, and just fell in love.  duckie, huge 80s hair, records, the clothes, and the fact that they had no cell phones just blows my mind. no internet, twitter, facebook, texting, skype, or instagram. i love how things are so similar to today, but yet so different. its so great. so. i've decided to start watching 80s movies because i've seen practically none!

tonight? the breakfast club.

to come?
::
st. elmo's fire, say anything, sixteen candles, the goonies, the wedding singer, ferris bueller's day off, ghostbusters, fast times at ridgemont hight, when harry met sally,  footloose, back to the future, flashdance, risky business, ...

i'm sure i will find more. i'm excited to start watching!

p.s. picture because i think pictures are just necessary! who knows why.

foshay, fo sho.

stephie and i went on an adventure. we went out late at night, climbed up to perilous heights, saw the beautiful city lights. would you check out those rhymes! (who is thinking of the princess bride in their head right now?) it was a nice warm summer night, so wandering downtown at midnight didn't seem so bad...especially with such wonderful company.

the time we adventured home.

this past week i took the littles home to grandma and grandpa's for a couple of days. what a party it was, what an exhausted auntie i was. we chatted with and chased the ducks and geese at the zoo. we played with chalk, water, and paint brushes on the driveway until there was no more empty space. we swung on tire swings until we got a little sick. (oops.) we snuggled on a blanket in the grass and read books from my childhood. we slip and sled until our bodies were sore. we had family time and, oh my, was it a good time.

go eat some pancakes, maybe watch a boy band serenade you. (no i didn't, yes i did)
trust me, its good stuff.

too sweet for words.

Emiko Tirzah. age 2.

this baby is a baby no longer! she is still growing and changing so much while i am gone. She said "i miss you, Jenna!" on skype the other day, and I just about died. She's going to be a kid when I get back and no longer a baby. thats weird.

she LOVES books. she loves caring for others, whether it be taking care of her baby doll orpicking up all of your things laying around (phone, keys, paper from your desk that you really don't need) and giving them to you. she's a cuddler. she loves running and squealing. she just loves life.

this concludes the kidlet series. WOAH A SERIES ON THE BLOG. this blog is going profesh.
i miss them. i love them. i can't wait to see them!

so i've been back from Italy for a week now, and no update. sorry, y'all! but they're coming. so here are some pics to hold you over, because I know you're all fretting over this and just dying to see the pictures! i hope my sarcasm translates through the computer machine.

i will tell you this, all sarcasm aside. Italy was wonderful. It was beautiful, exciting, foreign (yes, you may call me captain obvious), magical, and delicious. We will unpack this in future posts.

all the way back in september (september! it feels like that was just last week), i got to go to a bullfight with some friends. I didn't know what to expect, and I had heard everything from they don't kill any bulls to they kill 6 bulls. It turns out it was the latter. It was kind of hard to watch (especially the first couple bulls), and when I think about it, I didn't watch the whole time. I spent a lot of time facing my friend bri, saying "oh my gosh. oh my gosh. oh my gosh.". I'm glad i went...it was a good spanish experience.

Have you ever heard about how a bullfight is like a dance? It really is cool how the matadors move and the presentation of it all. It was also fun to play with my camera and take some cool pictures. If only I had better zoom! alas, i do not. enjoy the piccies anyway. :)
